Fearless clarity

Muktabai, the younger sister of Dnyaneshwar, was a remarkable spiritual force in her own right. Her abhangas reveal philosophical sharpness and spiritual fearlessness, famously demonstrated when she taught the proud yogi Changdev to see beyond supernatural display.

Her poetry critiques ego and spiritual vanity, emphasizing inward realization over external achievement. Muktabai’s voice is clean and unsentimental, speaking from a position of profound realization that refused social judgment and male-dominated hierarchies.
